Hi! I’M Zahra Shakeri Shemirani

I am 33 years old, I’m a mother of two children, and I have a master’s degree in Genetics but painting is the only occupation that I have. My passion for painting, calligraphy, and experimenting with new tech- niques have led me to make mixed-media artworks. The main goal that I always have is to show the silence behind loud thoughts, the music in our vision, the words’ secrets, and the delicacy of different textures.

With calligraphy, I can show hope in each line, and combine my deepest feelings with love, then when I work with a Sumi brush, that has essential expressionism in it, I can easily touch the gentle souls. The dance of colors and patterns on Persian carpets, the reflection of eterni- ty in mirrors, the resemblance of the sun in gold leaf, the solidity of plaster- works, Shah-Abbasi flowers on Persian tiles, walnut wood, the paisley pattern that makes you want to fall into it and elegant Persian poetry are all the elements I want to have in my works and make pure Iranian art pieces.
